Special Olympics
What a joy it was to accompany the children of Sagrada Corazon (the home at NPH-G for our children with special needs) to the Special Olympics in Guatemala City. They were SO excited, even though we left at 5:45 this morning. It was so fun to see them competing and we cheered super loud for each and every one of our athletes---which they all loved :) The pictures are out of order, I apologize...but hopefully you can see how happy everyone was to be there!
Aniversario: Day Two
My team won!!
The games on day two were pretty insane. Running, swimming, and crawling through mud pits, a much rougher version of ultimate frisbee, passing huge soaking wet sponges over the heads of team members in a line, and many others. I chose not to participate in the finale game of tug of war, over a huge pit of mud and motor oil. Just a little too messy and dangerous for my liking. My team did a great job of working together and it paid off in the end. Our prize is that we get to go see a movie and eat at Pollo Campero together one day in December. Enjoy the photos!
My team before the obstacle course...
...and after.
